When the COVID pandemic necessitated that we develop a virtual version of ‘Camp’ Camp in August 2020, everyone who participated was thrilled to discover just how much of the fun, spirit & camaraderie of ‘Camp’ Camp transcended gathering virtually. Though obviously not the same as gathering in person in Maine, our Campers still told us it was the best (virtual) time ever, so we decided to keep the online fun & fabulousness going once that first week of Virtual Camp was over — and ‘Camp’ Camp Plus, our virtual day camp for LGBTQ adults, was born!
Our third annual season of ‘Camp’ Camp Plus will run October 2022 through May 2023. Access to Camp+ is complimentary to all former Campers & Staff.
If you’re considering joining us in Maine for season’s summer camp for LGBTQ adults, joining us online for a session or two of Camp+ is a great way to get a taste of the ‘Camp’ Camp experience — as well as to meet some of the awesome & fun LGBTQ folx who make up the Camp community. Have a look at the current Camp+ offerings listed below, then e-mail us for details on how to join us. We’d love to meet you!

camp+ staff positions
We’re always open to adding fun & fabulous new activities to our Camp+ programming. If you are an enthusiastic people-person with a unique, fun Arts & Crafts project, workshop, game, or other specialized skill that is adaptable to a virtual format and you’d like to share with a group of fun-loving, adventurous LGBTQ adults, send an e-mail to registration@campcamp.com with your proposal.
All Camp+ session hosts & instructors are volunteers, though they do receive complimentary access to all Camp+ programming in any month in which they lead at least one session.
testimonials
Yes, we know many of us are all Zoom-ed out at this point, but read what some of our Campers had to say about past seasons of Virtual Camp and ‘Camp’ Camp Plus.
Without exception, everyone I met during Camp was friendly, kind, and happy to engage the new person in whatever activity, game, or conversation was going on. … In a sense, Virtual Camp was actually a great introduction [to ‘Camp’ Camp]: “What if I don’t like this? I am going to be stuck in the woods for a week!” became “I can’t wait to do this in person!” I definitely felt like Camp was filled with “my kind of people.”

I was surprised by how much it all really felt like being at Camp.
– Deb K., New York, NY
Far and above what I could have imagined. … Amazing! A+
– Michael G., Brooklyn, NY
The work you did to put this together was outstanding. I can see so much thought, creativity and effort went into it, and I thought it executed incredibly well in very trying circumstances!
– Michelle R., Brighton, MA
I was pleasantly surprised that the welcomeness and inclusiveness translated to a virtual medium. It was my fear that it would be lacking, but I still felt connected and loved/supported. … I was amazed that it still felt very much like ‘Camp’ Camp even though it was all virtual.
– Doug S., Arleta, CA
Loved all of the activities that I attended. There was a wide variety of things to do and new things to learn. … I really looked forward to Rainbow Group each day, but I liked all the classes and evening activities that I attended. … Those connections are really important to me during this time of isolation.
– Jan G., Clearwater, FL
I’m really glad I pushed past my apprehension and doubt about Virtual Camp being an enjoyable experience. I had a blast, and it was such a welcomed boost.
