a day at camp

The community I’ve found at Camp is a huge part of what’s kept me coming back year after year.

Camp is a place of sheer joy and unconditional love for me. I couldn’t imagine a year without it in my life.

I loved how everyone was just there to have fun, make new friends, and relax. Everyone could be who they were no matter what! … Camp really is the “Best Time Ever!” Sounds corny, but it’s true.

It was a wonderful experience that I will remember forever. I loved it!

I had the freedom to play, hang out, and try activities, with no pressure to finish them or be anywhere on time. I like that I don’t have to wear a watch for a week.

I felt very welcomed. I did not feel like an outsider at all. I never worried about having someone to eat with or spend time with.

I love my Camp friends; I am completely at home when I go to Camp.

I loved making friends that I felt like I’ve had for years! It was a great environment to bond with people! The dances were fantastic – felt like you were at a club with dozens of your closest friends!

The grounds/facilities were beautiful, the food was delicious, my Rainbow Group was super cool…I wanted to do practically every activity!

August = ‘Camp’ Camp. Need I say more?

…it’s my favorite time of year, great people, great place, great time!

I had the most relaxing, fulfilling, transformative and utterly amazing time I think I have ever had…I walk away from Camp with a new sense of pride in our community and an inner joy I didn’t even know I was lacking.

Why did I return? I just wanted to see those damn adorable people one more time!

I truly love the Camp experience. It is the most unique experience anyone, at any age, can have.

Throughout the week, I felt like I encountered dozens of folks who thought and felt just like me. Each activity was well thought out and made a shy, first-year Camper feel at home. Kudos to everyone involved in the traditions. Don’t change a thing.

It’s affordable and awesome!

Thanks so much for making such a magical place. I left the week knowing I had the best time EVER. We have already put next year’s dates on our personal and work calendars.

It’s not summer without coming to Camp.

I laugh louder and longer at Camp, I dance harder, eat more, breath deeper. Laughter is my favorite thing that happens at Camp, and it happens often.

…a terrific and uplifting experience. You’ll see me again!

‘Camp’ Camp is totally amazing. It’s just a shame that only 230 people get to enjoy it each year!

For my money, this is an unparalleled opportunity to mix with people I might not otherwise ever meet, and laugh more than should be humanly possible.

First-class operation! Everything is thought out so well. To me this isn’t a GLBT camp, it’s a fantastic camp with GLBT people. Anyone would love this camp!!

It would be painful not to come back…I would be soooooooo depressed knowing how much best-time-ever I would be missing.

Something clicked. Like all the barriers had come down. Like old vs. young didn’t matter. Male vs. female didn’t matter. Gay/straight/lesbian/ bisexual didn’t matter. The world felt balanced, and everyone’s uniqueness suddenly seemed beautiful, perfect.

I’ve found a new community, one I’ve been searching for since I left college dorm life. … Well done!

There wasn’t one time that I felt excluded or unwanted at Camp. Everyone was so nice and open and outgoing. …if people all over acted like people at Camp, this world would be a much happier place!

I never expected to find a place where I felt so alive, so free and welcomed. … It was awesome!

I loved everything about Camp. The people, the staff, the food, the activities I participated in.

It is honestly the highlight of my year to spend time with such a wonderful group of people and literally not think of work, or life, outside of Camp for the week. That is what makes it a true vacation destination.

I met some really nice, sweet people, and it was nice to make connections with people from a variety of places and with a variety of experiences.

The Staff and Campers made me feel welcome and included in anything that I wished to participate in.

‘Camp’ Camp is usually my favorite week of the entire year, and always in the top three! Why? Old friends, new friends, natural beauty, laughter, play, fun, memories…

Amazingly Amazing! I never for a second felt excluded or unwelcome! … ‘Camp’ Camp is such a wonderful amazing incredible thing, and I hope beyond hope that I get to return someday. It’s really a life changing week.

All the evening activities were outstanding. So much fun!

I enjoy the people and the many fun activities.

I continue to be impressed on how much the staff helps out in any way they can to make the Camp experience the best it can possibly be! … I can’t imagine not being in Maine in August.
