For nearly 30 years, ‘Camp’ Camp has been a unique option for queer travelers looking for something different than the usual gay cruises or resorts. And since our very first year in 1997, our Campers have come from across the country to converge for one late-summer, gorgeous week in Maine for a week unlike any other. Most of our Campers return at least once: in any given summer, around 75% of our Campers have been with us at least one other season – with 40% of them celebrating five or more seasons at Camp.
When asked what keeps them coming back year after year, our returning Campers give us the same response that first-time Campers give when we ask them what surprised them most about Camp: the people.
Obviously, the fun & friendly community of LGBTQ+ folks that gather in Maine each August from across the country (and beyond) plays a significant role in proving that our “best time ever!” tagline is a genuine example of truth in advertising!
Our 28th summer this August is shaping up to have another amazing crowd of folks from not only across the United States, but around the globe as well. As of June 13, we already have 220 Campers confirmed to join us — and they hail from 36 states here in the U.S., along with Canada, the U.K. & the Cayman Islands, Israel, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, and the Netherlands. Ranging in age from 21 to 81, this summer’s Campers will be traveling to Maine from the 156 cities & towns around the world:
