Working at ‘Camp’ Camp isn’t your typical summer job (Camp is currently only one-week long for one thing!), but Camp is a great place to share your skills, talents, and knowledge with a community of fun and adventurous GLBT folks from all over the country. Plus, many people find it’s simply a great way to end their summer.

Generally, staff positions at 'Camp' Camp are paid via a "work-play" compensation system. Being on staff is a great way to decrease your registration fee while still enjoying all the fun of Camp. Many of our Staff (like many of our Campers) return from year to year and find that their "working vacation" at Camp is a fun and highly rewarding experience. Each staff position – from the Maintenance & Logistics staff to our Activities Instructors – is equally important in creating a fun and positive experience for everyone at Camp. We expect all our Staff members to have a great Camp experience themselves, while also being committed to their individual positions and promoting Camp values of community, inclusion, and encouragement.

We need staff to work in both the Operations and Programming areas of Camp. Most Operations staff are scheduled to work specific hours throughout the week, while most Programming staff – which consists primarily of Activities instructors – are scheduled during specified activity periods each day. (A typical day at Camp is broken into four major activity periods, each of which is either 90 minutes or 2 hours in length.)

Currently, 'Camp' Camp offers the following discounts on Camp fees for being a member of our staff:

• Staff I (Staff member pays $700): Operations or Program staff who work approximately 8-12 hours during the week and Activities staff who lead one (1) activity period per day.

• Staff II (Staff member pays $520): Operations or Program staff who work approximately 15-20 hours during the week and Activities staff who lead two (2) activity periods per day.

• Staff III (Staff member pays $335): Operations or Program staff who work approximately 22-28 hours during the week or any staff member who works a combination of a Staff I and Staff II level position.

• Staff IV(Staff member pays $150): Operations or Program staff who work approximately 30-36 hours during the week, Activities staff who lead three to four (3-4) activity periods per day, or any staff member who works a combination of two (2) Staff II positions. Staff members in this category are generally given 2-3 activity periods off during the week to allow them to enjoy other Camp activities.

• Staff V (Staff member pays $0): Executive Operations or Program staff who work 40 or more hours during the week, any staff position requiring extensive "On Call" hours, or certain Team Leader positions which involve pre-Camp planning hours.

• Staff VI (Paid Staff): Operations or Program staff who work 45 or more hours during the week, staff with specialized skills, or certain Team Leader positions which involve specialized skills and/or pre-Camp planning hours.

In addition to the positions listed below, we are always looking to add new activities to our Activities Schedule. So, if you are an enthusiastic, people-person with a unique, fun Arts & Crafts project, specialized skill, or outdoor activity that you would like to share with a group of fun-loving, adventurous GLBT adults, send an e-mail to registration@campcamp.com with your proposal. Dishwashers It’s not glamorous, but it’s important: we've gone environmental and need dishwashers to help keep us green.(Staff I, Staff II or Staff IV)

Massage Therapists We have openings for trained & experienced male and female massage therapists to provide massage services to Campers during the week. You should be comfortable working on both men and women of all ages and body-types. (Some pay is available for massage therapists, based on number of massages booked during the week.)

Waterfront Staff Our waterfront is one of the most beautiful, relaxing, and popular places at Camp, so we are always in need of Red Cross-certified lifeguards or WSIs to keep our lakefront safe for swimmers and to teach swimming, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, and kayaking. (Staff II or Staff IV)

In consideration of the services of ‘Camp’ Camp II, LLC and each of its respective members, officers, directors, agents, employees, affiliates, representatives, independent contractors, volunteers (including consulting physicians), successors and assigns (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Camp”), by clicking the ‘I Agree’ button below this Agreement, I acknowledge, represent and agree as follows: I represent that I have no mental or physical problems or limitations that might affect my ability to participate in activities at ‘Camp’ Camp (the “Activities”) which have not previously been disclosed to Camp in writing. I have had and will have the opportunity to ask questions about the Activities and the risks associated with them and I am aware that I can decline to participate in any Activity in my sole judgment. I understand that Camp Activities may be scheduled or unscheduled, supervised or unsupervised and modified or canceled for any number of reasons, including convenience, weather, emergencies or unexpected conditions, all at the sole discretion of Camp. I acknowledge that participating in Camp Activities may involve safety risks and that access to medical facilities, communication systems, transportation and/or means of evacuation may be subject to delay. I understand that Camp cannot assure my safety or eliminate all risks associated with my participation in Camp Activities. I agree to assume all such risks and release Camp from any loss, liability, claim, or expense in any way associated with my participation in any Camp Activity, including (to the fullest extent permitted by law) any loss caused or alleged to have been caused, in whole or in part, by the negligence of Camp (but excluding gross negligence or willful or wanton conduct by Camp) and also including (by way of example and not of limitation) claims for personal injury, property damage, wrongful death, and breach of contract. I agree to defend and indemnify Camp (to pay or reimburse Camp for money it is required to pay, including attorney’s fees and costs) with respect to any and all claims brought by or on behalf of a family member, a co-participant, or any other person for any claims related to my participation in any Camp Activity. I accept that the substantive law of Maine shall govern the validity of this document and any dispute I have with Camp regardless of any “conflicts of law” rules. Any claim for damages arising from my participation in any Activity conducted or sponsored by Camp, or any controversy involving this agreement, shall be resolved solely by binding arbitration pursuant to the then applicable rules of the American Arbitration Association. I agree to pay all attorney’s fees and costs incurred by Camp in defending against any claim or proceeding brought by me if the claim or proceeding is later withdrawn or if Camp prevails. This document is intended to be interpreted and enforced to the fullest extent allowed by law. Any portion of this document deemed unlawful or unenforceable is severable and shall be stricken without any effect on the enforceability of the remaining provisions. I understand that Camp does not tolerate discrimination on the basis of race, color, religious creed, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or age. Camp, in its sole discretion, may decide to refuse admission to an individual for any other reason, such as inappropriate, disruptive, or offensive behavior or the failure to act in accordance with Camp principals and values. I HAVE CAREFULLY READ, UNDERSTAND, AND VOLUNTARILY AGREE TO THIS DOCUMENT. I UNDERSTAND THAT I AM SURRENDERING CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS. I AGREE THAT THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE BINDING ON ME, MY MINOR CHILDREN AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS, AND MY HEIRS, EXECUTORS, REPRESENTATIVES, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS.
